About Us

Welcome to Akshay Niwas The Boutique Hotel

Nestled in the quiet and posh location in the beautiful romantic city of lakes, Akshay Niwas an all suite hotel, is a luxury boutique with wide Jharokhas built in Mewar style architecture and breathtaking views of the forest of the hunting lodge of the Maharajah of Udaipur and lake Pichola. With peacocks for a wake up alarm and the amazing quiet in a city center.. It's 5 minutes ride to most of city's museums and attractions.

The guests have a home away from home feel.. And can enjoy fresh produce and "non restaurant like" meals from our chef recommended menus, besides a complimentary breakfast. Pleasant and very attentive staff have very local roots and our guests have always enjoyed the hospitality of the Rajput hosts and the management.

A non-hotel, Hotel, Akshay Niwas is a firm believer in the now, with its roots in the past. For instance the old world Mewar architecture is imbibed in the façade and the stairway railings but the stair gap is small, modern, making for an easy climb, also wide enough for easy access. Each floor has a lounge area, and art on the stairway to keep you busy and acquaint you with the city of Udaipur and its past, as you keep fit! You will not miss the elevator. However, as our rooms are housed from the first floor onwards, kindly take note, in the absence of an elevator, in case of senior citizens or if any guest is unable to climb the stairs for any reason.

We would be happy to accommodate you in any of the 4 suites on the first floor, depending upon booking and availability. Though the view just gets better as you go up!

Udaipur is a city to slow down and soak in !

It has its own pace. We recommend you leave the hurry behind, even if you miss out on a sight seeing or two, take the time to enjoy the sun rise from our rooftop, sip chai and read a book.

Our team would be delighted to serve you drinks or breakfast by the poolside, and a request for candle light dinner by the poolside is always entertained, we recommend our two separate rooftops for a gorgeous view of the ‘Floating Palace’ as our guests have nicknamed the Monsoon Palace, and the Pichola Lake, with the never ending Aravalli Mountain range for a view. A high tea can be booked on the rooftop, with tea/coffee, sandwiches and cakes baked in house.

Meals…

With a farm to fork policy for our food served here with love, kindly do take interest in knowing that we don’t store cooked food, in fact encourage slow cooking, encourage age old recipes, fresh ingredients sourced right, and no artificial preservatives to make food look or taste different. Do give us time to cook for you, and to understand what you would prefer to enjoy, as the meals are not instant but created from scratch. Please see our ‘Kitchen Philosophy’ section, or call us to know more.

In the evenings, dinner at the rooftop with a bon fire can be arranged, speak to our manager for all that we can do to make your stay more memorable and holiday more relaxed!
